Policies Regarding Unscheduled Closing of Aquatic Facility

The pool manager shall, under the following conditions, be authorized to close the pool


  1.   The pool will be cleared for a period of fifteen minutes anytime lightning is spotted or thunder is heard .  Patrons will be allowed to re-enter the pool once the time has elapsed without reoccurrence of thunder of lightning.


  1.   When a situation arises that would jeopardize public health or safety of the people in attendance.  According to the Illinois health code guests must be asked to clear the pool any time there is vomiting or fecal accident in the water.  The pool will be cleared for a period of fifteen minutes while chemical adjustments are made.


  1.   When the air temperature falls below 70 degrees Fahrenheit for a continuous one hour period the pool will close for the day.


  1.   If storm conditions create a clearing of the pool and there is no sign of weather clearing, the pool will close for the day.


  1.   If there are ten or less swimmers for a one-hour period and poor weather conditions exist, the pool will close for the day.


  1.   Refunds will not be given if the pool closes due to inclement weather for any period of time.


Pool Rules


  1.   All patrons entering the facility must pay the admission fee or have a punch card.  After leaving the facility all patrons must pay the admission fee to re-enter.


  1.   No outside food or drink will be permitted.  all food purchased, must remain in the designated concession area only.


  1.   Children ten years of age and younger must be supervised by an adult sixteen years or older, at all times.


  1.   Swim fins, squirt guns, or other aquatic toys are not permitted during public swim times.


  1.   Any flotation device must be non-inflatable; U.S. Coastguard approved and securely attached to the person using it.


  1.   Only swimsuits may be worn in the pool.  No street clothes, such as T-shirts, cut-offs or underwear will be permitted in the pool.


  1.   According to health code, children in diapers must wear a swim diaper or wear plastic pants over their diaper.


  1.   Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the facility.


  1.   Camera phones and video recorders are not permitted in locker rooms.


  1.   Guest are asked to walk at all times.


  1.   Diving is only permitted in the diving well.


  1.   Hanging on the safety ropes or playing on the ladder will not be permitted.


  1.   Horseplay, such as dunking, shoulder rides, pushing and or running on the deck is strictly prohibited.


  1.   Gum and glass containers are not permitted in the pool area.


  1.   Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the facility.  Guests suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave.


  1.   Because our pool is a public facility, we ask that all guests respect the rights of others, listen to the pool staff and refrain from using profane language.

  2.   No tandem riding or assisting (catching) at bottom of slides.

  3.   The aquatic staff reserves the right to refuse entry or dismiss any guest due to unsafe actions, conditions or situations that inhibit the enjoyment or safety of another guest.
