Public Meeting Information


The Chillicothe Park Board of Trustees meets on the second Saturday of each month at 7:00 a.m. at the Shore Acres Park Clubhouse, 100 Park Blvd. Chillicothe, IL 61523.  

The public is welcome to attend any of the open meetings of the Chillicothe Park District.  If you would like to address the board please view the Chillicothe Park District Public Comment Policy before attending. Request To Speak Before the Board.

*The Chillicothe Park district has scheduled a public hearing for Saturday, June 2, 2017 at 7:00 am at the Shore Acres Park clubhouse, 100 Park Boulevard, Chillicothe, Illinois, to consider the adoption of an Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2017, and ending May 31, 2018. A copy of the combined tentative annual budget and Appropriation ordinance is available for public inspection at the Shore Acres Park clubhouse, 100 Park Boulevard, Chillicothe, Illinois.

The Chillicothe Park district has rescheduled its regularly scheduled meeting that was scheduled to occur on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 7:00 am to Saturday, June 3, 2017, immediately following the public hearing scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 7:00 am at the Shore Acres park clubhouse, 100 Park Boulevard, Chillicothe, Illinois.

What is FOIA?

FOIA is the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. Under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 et. seq.), records in possession of public agencies may be accessed by the public upon written request.


How can I submit a FOIA request?

The Chillicothe Park District's Freedom of Information Act request form can be found here.  Written requests not using the provided form should state that information is being sought under the Freedom of Information Act. Provide a brief description of the public records requested, being as specific as possible. While responses can be provided via e-mail, please provide a mailing address.

What happens after I submit a request?

The Illinois Freedom of Information Act requires agencies to respond within five business days of receipt of a request. A five-day extension is allowed with written notification to the requester.

What are the costs for duplication?

Is there a process to appeal the FOIA officer's decisions?

In the event that part or all of a request is denied, requesters may appeal the denial to the President of the Park District. A written notice of appeal should be sent to:
