2026 Swimming Lesson Information

Tuesday & Thursdays: June 16th – July 9th
9:30 am, 10:00 am, & 6:30 pm
Cost: $80.00

Aqua Tot Lessons are centered on swim instructors guiding the parent and children ages 2-4 yrs. through multiple exercises and activities that introduce elementary water skills and promote independent swimming. Once your child can perform basic skills without parental assistance and reach the age of five, they may begin Level 1 swim lessons. Aqua Tot Classes require an adult to be in the water with each participant.

Shore Acres Pool offers a Small Group Swimming Lesson Program for children ages 5+. Upon successful completion of each level, the student will receive a Shore Acres course completion certificate and move to the next level. Parent/Guardian not allowed into the water with child without approval prior to start of classes.

LEVEL 1 – Child is comfortable in the water and can put face in the water, blow bubbles, and can float on front and back with assistance.

Fully submerge head and retrieve underwater objects.
Demonstrate unsupported front and back float or glide.
Perform flutter kick on front and back.
Demonstrate rhythmic breathing
Perform backstroke

LEVEL 2 – Child can float alone on front and back without assistance and can demonstrate kicking and arm stroke action of the front crawl (freestyle).

Dive from the side of the pool in a kneeling position.
Coordinate the components of the front crawl with side-breathing.
Demonstrate gliding with push-off from the wall.
Introduce the fundamentals of elementary backstroke.

LEVEL 3 – Child can perform front crawl (freestyle) with side-breathing for 10 yards and can demonstrate the fundamentals of back crawl (backstroke).

Dive from the side of the pool at a standing position.
Learns to tread water.
Master elementary backstroke.
Build endurance with front crawl and back crawl.

LEVEL 4 – Child can perform front crawl (freestyle) with side-breathing for the length of the pool, tread water, perform elementary backstroke, and dive from the side of the pool.

Continue to increase endurance in the front crawl and back crawl.
Introduce breaststroke
Tread water for two minutes.
Learn the fundamentals of sidestroke.

Tuesday & Thursdays: June 16th – July 9th
10:30 am, 11:00 am, & 7:00 pm

Shore Acres Pool offers a Individual Swimming Lesson Program for adults & children ages 4+. Individual classes are ideal for students who learn better with individual attention; including anxious first-time swimmers, kids with special needs, and adults who have put off learning to swim. Parent/Guardian not allowed into the water with child without approval prior to start of classes. Availability limited to number of instructors.

Additional Information

Registration can be done at this link starting May 1, 2026.
Swimming Lessons are held Tuesday & Thursday for four (4) weeks.
Each lesson is 30 minutes long.
If a lesson is canceled due to weather, it will be rescheduled for the immediate Tuesday or Thursday after the original completion date.
Registration must be done prior to the first date of the lesson start date.
Registration closes June 12, 2026
Cancellation of registration outside of seven (7) days in advance receives full refund, inside of seven days 50%, and no refunds once lessons have started.

Toddler Time

June 16th – July 30th 2026 (Tues. & Thurs. ONLY)

Adults and Children Ages 0-4 are welcome to visit Shore Acres Pool in the morning when crowds are at a minimum. Guest are allowed to use the activity “kiddie” pool only during Toddler Time. All participating adults are required to be in the water with their children.

Time: 10:30-11:30 am
Cost: $5 per adult (No Preregistration Required)

*All participants wanting to stay after Aqua Tots Class must pay the $5 rate to participate in Toddler Time.
*All participants wanting to stay for regular pool hours after Toddler Time must exit the facility at 11:30 and pay the traditional rate to return.
